Y3K
July 6th, 2009Ancona, 4th July
The new y3k (Wally 100.03) was christened in Ancona today following very successful sea-trials in admittedly light winds. The Hall Spars rig seems very sturdy and with the Future fibers standing rigging is a great package.
Congratulations to the owner.

WY 164 Fairing
No time to waste this year we were lucky to start with a visit to Hall Spars in Rhode Island. The willingness to work with new ideas, quality of carbon and seamless tubes is spectacular. Thanks to project manager Henry MaxwellThe Wally 164 is being faired in sections using a new method by Ian Armstrong as tested on Maltese Falcon. Reports are good both for initial quality and longevity, we shall see.
Voiles de St Tropez
November 17th, 2008In light and variable conditions at the Voiles de St Tropez Y3k was beaten into second place overall by Wally 94 Open Season by just 10 seconds. In another race we were beaten by three seconds indicating just how close the racing is. The good news was winning the Hublot trophy for the overall season.
The semi hulls of the Wally 50m, project managed by Riviera Asset Management are demoulded in Fano Italy. They will be joined and the bulkheads installed before she is turned upright.
Maxi Yacht World Cup
September 17th, 2008A windy Porto Cervo hosted the Maxi Yacht World Cup bringing Y3k a disappointing 6th place overall. Not our best result, lets wait until St Tropez. The deck of Baltic 78 Lady L is being fitted out in Finland.
