Nespresso Cup

Monday, May 10th, 2010

Despite the rain and very little wind, the first Nespresso Cup was sailed in Portofino. Well done to Magic Carpet 2 and her crew. The ability of the YCI committee was again confirmed as limited as their honesty in the protest room. We hope for better racing and weather in Portofino.

Wednesday, September 16th, 2009

After five days of spectacular racing, y3k won the Wally class with a day to spare. Even so we sailed the last day and got a first place. This result is especially pleasing as it was the first race for the new y3k.

WY 164 Fairing

WY 164 Fairing

No time to waste this year we were lucky to start with a visit to Hall Spars in Rhode Island. The willingness to work with new ideas, quality of carbon and seamless tubes is spectacular. Thanks to project manager Henry MaxwellThe Wally 164 is being faired in sections using a new method by Ian Armstrong as tested on Maltese Falcon. Reports are good both for initial quality and longevity, we shall see.
